Reading and using OnTheRice

Membership and billing

Registration provides seven days of access to investment signals without a payment card. Continuing after that period requires an optional membership at SGD 3.99 per month. Stripe hosts the payment form and handles recurring billing and payment details. Our account services use billing identifiers and subscription status to determine access and provide billing management.

OnTheRice does not ask you to enter card details into its own account forms. Membership renews monthly until cancelled; cancelled paid membership retains access through the end of the current paid period. See our Terms for access and billing conditions.

Registration and trial abuse prevention

To prevent repeated free access through another account or device, registration checks the network IP address against a stored keyed hash. The anti-abuse record retains this hash rather than the raw IP address. If an account previously registered from the same IP has expired or is unpaid, another registration from that IP is blocked, including after logout or when using another device.

This rule can affect people sharing a household, workplace, mobile carrier or other network. It does not block existing-account sign-in or billing recovery. Sign in to the existing account to manage membership, or use our Support page if a shared network prevents registration.

Our own traffic measurement

OnTheRice has a first-party traffic collector that sends usage events to our own website endpoint. It uses browser local storage and session storage for pseudonymous visitor and session identifiers. Events can include the page route and title, time, device category, referring page, campaign parameters, link interactions, scroll depth, engagement time, page-load timing and error information.

This collection is separate from Google Analytics. Supported Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable the browser traffic collector. Pseudonymous identifiers are not the same as anonymous data.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits and interactions on eligible public pages. The tag starts automatically. A previously saved rejection, or a supported Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, keeps it disabled.

Google Analytics may use cookies to distinguish browsers and visits. It processes information such as page addresses and titles, referring pages, interaction events, browser and device information, approximate location and cookie identifiers. Our initial page and referrer addresses omit query strings and fragments. Google receives technical request information when its service is loaded.

The integration disables Google signals and advertising personalization signals. Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalization consent remain denied. Analytics does not enable advertising.

Use a browser that sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control to keep Google Analytics disabled. Previously saved analytics rejections remain respected. These controls do not delete information already sent to Google. When disabled, the integration also attempts to remove Google Analytics cookies accessible to this website.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Paid subscribers, readers with an earned membership month and verified administrators browse without advertising. Cancelling renewal keeps this benefit until the existing paid or earned access ends. The server checks the account’s billing status before serving advertising-enabled pages; the browser also verifies current membership before requesting an ad script. An unavailable membership check keeps advertising disabled. Trial access alone does not provide this paid benefit. Membership checks are used by OnTheRice and are not sent to Google as advertising targeting data.

This site includes a Google AdSense publisher account tag and an ads.txt record for publisher verification. Those records do not prove that Google has approved the site. We do not publish an account approval, payment or verification status here because it must be checked in the publisher’s AdSense account.

Ad serving is disabled in this site’s advertising loader. No AdSense advertising script is loaded by that loader while this setting is disabled. Google Analytics does not enable advertising. The publisher must complete the required account setup and applicable Google-certified consent management setup before enabling advertising.

Locked investment views, sign-in and registration pages, private dashboards and account screens are excluded from advertising. Eligible public research pages may carry ads only after advertising has been enabled with the applicable consent controls.

When enabled, Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons or similar technologies, and process IP addresses, browser and device information, page information and other identifiers to deliver and measure ads. For personalised ads served to people in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework is required. This site does not provide a certified advertising consent platform. Applicable advertising choices must be available before personalised advertising is enabled.

Supported Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals keep the site’s optional advertising loader disabled. Withdrawing consent does not delete information already sent to a service.
